Jingle Bells

Under construction in 2022 and 2023, this home was designed to respect and highlight its location in an aspen forest. The home steps up the hillside to reduce its perceived mass. Simple shifts and cantilevers in the gable volumes interpret traditional forms with a modern twist.  A steel bridge spans from the auto-court to the front entry. The main living space opens onto patios at grade with beautiful southern mountain views. Outside the dining room is a covered and elevated west deck with sliding doors to protect from the west wind and sun. Generous indoor spaces are oriented onto views of the forest and distant mountain views. The master bedroom and deck are cantilevered out to the south for optimal views and sunshine. Siding colors reflect the varied forest colors during the seasons.
