Rick Dominick
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Rick knew from a very early age that he wanted to be an architect.
"Even as a child I was acutely aware of how different structures, spaces, even angles affected the ways in which people interact.
The buildings and rooms we live, play, and work in have a profound impact on our lives. I knew I wanted to create positive change through design."
After studying French at Davidson College, Rick lived in Montpellier, France, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. before attending graduate school at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia. At Virginia Tech he received his Masters of Architecture degree and in 1994 he settled in Vail, Colorado.
"The Vail Valley is a unique place that sustains its small-town character while successfully catering to a dazzling assortment of international interests.
It provides the perfect environment for an architect; a wonderful, close-knit community in which to live, and the challenge of working with some of the most successful, creative people in the world."
Dominick Architects believes strongly that good buildings help build better relationships between people and connect people to their specific environment.
Rick is a licensed Colorado architect. He served on the AIA Colorado Board of Directors as President of the AIA Colorado West Chapter and as the AIA Colorado Intern Director.
