Mountain Modern Home

Under construction in 2023 and 2024, the home was designed to respect and highlight its location in an aspen forest. The home steps up the hillside to reduce its perceived mass. Simple shifts and cantilevers in the gable volumes provide a modern twist on with traditional forms.  A steel bridge spans from the auto-court to the front entry. The main living space opens onto patios at grade with beautiful southern mountain views. The dining room opens onto a covered and elevated west deck with sliding doors to protect from the west wind and late day sun. Generous indoor spaces are oriented onto close-up views of the forest and distant mountain views. The upper master bedroom and deck are cantilevered out to the south for optimal views and sunshine. Siding colors pick up the varied colors of the aspen trees during the seasons.
